Skip Boston prices. Stay in Providence.

Gillette Stadium hosts seven World Cup matches. Boston accommodation rates are up over 100%, with some listings above $6,000 a night. PVD Loft is a 3-bedroom designer loft in Downtown Providence — 30 minutes from Gillette by car or special MBTA train, with Providence's own FanZone a 4-minute walk from the train station.

Getting to the matches

Providence → Foxboro, three ways

Option 1

Special-service train

The MBTA operates Franklin/Foxboro special-event service for all seven matches. The train departs Providence, stops at Pawtucket/Central Falls, Attleboro, and Mansfield, and terminates at Foxboro Station — arriving ~90 minutes pre-kickoff, departing 30 minutes after the final whistle. mTicket available through the MBTA app.

Option 2

Drive, 30–40 min

Approximately 25 miles via I-95. Match-day traffic will extend both directions — allow extra time. Gillette has paid stadium parking; inquire well in advance. PVD Loft includes one free driveway parking space + Level 2 EV charger on-site.

Option 3

Ride-share

Uber/Lyft from PVD Loft to Gillette typically runs $55–$90 each way on non-match days; expect surge pricing of 2–4× during match windows. The train is almost always the better option once surge is factored in.

Not just a place to sleep

Providence is a World Cup city in its own right

The PVD FanZone — free, all tournament long

June 11 through July 19 on the State House lawn, adjacent to Providence Station. Giant screen, beer garden, food trucks, live music. It's the kind of public viewing experience you'd fly to Europe for, held a 4-minute walk from where you'd board the train to Foxboro. Watch the afternoon match at the FanZone, jump on the evening train — genuinely unique.

Ghana's Black Stars base camp is at Bryant University

Twenty minutes from the loft, Bryant University is the official training base camp for Ghana's national team through the tournament. Providence has been designated the primary host city for Ghanaian fans, and Mayor Smiley has publicly invited the Black Stars supporter base. If you're a Ghana fan, Providence is the natural gravity center — and the loft puts you near training-day activity plus the Jun 23 England vs Ghana match.

Scottish fans — two Gillette matches, one rail connection

Scotland plays Haiti (Jun 13) and Morocco (Jun 19) at Gillette. That's a full week to anchor in one place. Providence gives you two match-day train rides to Foxboro and five days in-between to explore a legitimately great food-and-art city at roughly half Boston's rate.

Group travel is where the math really works

Boston hotels for the England match weekend are routinely showing $450–$900 per room per night at 60%+ occupancy. PVD Loft sleeps 8 across 3 bedrooms at direct-booking rates that split to dramatically less per head. For a group of 4 to 8 attending multiple matches, a full-loft rental is the standard model.

The loft

What you get at PVD Loft

Sleeps 8

3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths

Three bedrooms across two levels — two master suites with king beds, one with a queen. Designed for groups without stepping on each other. Max 6 adults, up to 8 total with children.

Cook or host pre-match

Six-burner range, full-size fridge, dining table for 10. Pre-match meal planning, post-match celebration dinners, or just sandwiches for the train.

Walk to Station

5 min to Providence Station

The loft sits in the Jewelry District — a 5-minute walk to Providence Station for the MBTA special train, and a 4-minute walk beyond that to the FanZone. No Ubers, no parking.

Private Garden

Outdoor lounge

Private garden with outdoor dining, gas grill, and fire pit. Post-match drinks under the stars in the heart of downtown — a rarity for a designer city loft.
